Manama : Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in conjunction with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day celebrations and the 26th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne and the accompanying national events, the Ministry of Labour held its 40th annual ceremony to honour outstanding and exemplary workers in private sector establishments.
The ceremony recognised distinguished national figures, human resources professionals, institutions, and workers from across Bahrain’s productive and economic sectors. The event was attended by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives; Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs; members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council; Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry; representatives of trade unions and labour organisations; as well as the honourees and representatives of participating companies.
In an address delivered at the outset of the ceremony, the Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs conveyed His Majesty the King’s appreciation of national competencies who contribute with dedication to Bahrain’s comprehensive development, and extended best wishes to the honourees for continued success and contribution.
The minister said the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to implement His Majesty’s vision to empower national talent, expand employment opportunities, support entrepreneurship and self-employment, enhance job stability, and improve performance quality. He noted that the directive to offer three job opportunities to every registered jobseeker before the end of the year reflects the leadership’s commitment to placing Bahraini citizens at the centre of government policies and programmes.
He added that the ceremony reflects the collective efforts of government, workers, and employers, which have strengthened the national economy through qualified Bahraini talent that has demonstrated excellence across production sectors, improved productivity indicators, and enhanced service quality. He expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s workforce for its commitment and dedication.
The minister also commended the role of labour unions and federations in protecting workers’ rights, promoting social dialogue, and supporting productivity growth, while recognising employers’ responsibility in providing stable and motivating work environments. He emphasised that cooperation among the three pillars of production, government, workers, and employers, remains essential to economic and social stability, sustainable development, and professional advancement.
The minister highlighted the contributions of Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan to employment, workforce development, and labour rights, noting that his long-standing service and commitment have positioned him among Bahrain’s distinguished national figures. He also commended the legislative authority for its continued support of labour-related issues and workers’ rights.
On behalf of the honourees, Ameena Abdulnabi Al Banna, Senior Trainer at Silah Gulf, expressed pride in receiving national recognition, noting that such appreciation serves as a strong incentive to continue contributing to Bahrain’s development and sustaining excellence across economic sectors.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs presented certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields to distinguished companies, administrators, entrepreneurs, and exemplary workers. The honourees represented a wide range of categories spanning multiple sectors of the national economy.
