Manama : Under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Labour today held the 38th annual ceremony to honour outstanding, hard-working employees and distinguished establishments in the private sector.
Held on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its national days, the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne, and the accompanying national events, the ceremony recognised outstanding national workforce, along with human resources officials and business leaders, as well as distinguished establishments and workers from various productive and economic sectors in the kingdom’s labour market.

Ministers, members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, and Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in addition to heads and representatives of federations and trade unions, prominent commercial, economic and social personalities, as well as honoured workers and representatives of the honoured companies, attended the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, extended deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for supporting the annual event, reflecting the royal unwavering keenness to honour hard-working and distinguished workers, administrators, and employers, who represent a role model for their dedication and giving at various work and production sites.

Minister Humaidan stressed that the annual ceremony aims to highlight and honour the distinguished national competencies in order to provide more opportunities, as well as increase quality employment rates for graduates and refine their experience in education and training, in addition to motivating establishments to invest in developing their national cadres.
He highlighted the role of the recently launched programmes in increasing employment and career development opportunities for Bahrainis working in the private sector.
In this regard, he referred to the Labour Fund (Tamkeen)’s programmes, targeting 50,000 Bahrainis annually. They include supporting the labour market by creating quality opportunities for new market entrants, supporting career development opportunities by ensuring Bahrainis remain the employees of choice within the labour market, and expanding enterprise support schemes to enhance the private sector’s competitiveness and role as a key economic driver, in line with Tamkeen’s mandate.
The Labour Minister lauded the level of the ongoing cooperation among the three production parties, namely the government, employers and employees, citing their concerted efforts to turn challenges into opportunities, and consolidate the principles of social dialogue to enhance the labour market’s ability to generate more quality job opportunities for the citizens.
Then, Shaima Sayed Baqer Hassan delivered a statement on behalf of the honourees. She affirmed that HM King Hamad’s patronage of the annual ceremony confirms the royal constant support for the role played by the national workforce and institutions in building the nation.
She expressed pride in being honoured, noting that the honouring of outstanding employees and distinguished establishments motivates others to be more dedicated to serving the kingdom.
After that, the Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan and Undersecretary HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa presented the honourees with appreciation certificates and commemorative shields.

The honouree list included outstanding individuals and distinguished establishments across various economic and production sectors, namely prominent pioneers, institutions which cooperated with the Labour Ministry through attracting and employing nationals, distinguished establishments that train job-seekers within the “Foras” (Opportunities) Programme, institutes that train job seekers and ensures their employment, small enterprise owners, distinguished directors, and supporters of people of determination.
The list also included workers in the non-organised economy, oil and gas sector, manufacturing industries, transportation and telecommunications, banking, finance and insurance, contracting, trade, tourism and other social activities and emerging professions that attract the national workforce.
