Manama : Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, commended the launch of the inaugural Knights Sports Tournament, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Al Kooheji highlighted that the tournament is a valuable addition to Bahrain’s sports events, reflecting His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s dedication to supporting the sports movement, promoting fair competition, and encouraging youth participation in sports. He noted that the initiative aims to inspire young people to engage in sports, strengthen social ties, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
“The Knights Sports Tournament builds upon His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s pioneering initiatives in advancing Bahraini sports. It will serve as a platform for identifying young athletic talents, offering them a competitive environment to enhance their skills and develop their potential,” Al Kooheji said.
He pointed out that hosting the tournament during Ramadhan gives it a special character, blending sportsmanship with the spiritual and traditional aspects of the holy month.
Al Kooheji emphasised the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s full support for ensuring the success of the tournament, in line with its vision to elevate the sports sector and promote excellence and innovation.
