Manama : Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, met with Yusuf bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, on his visit to the Jaafari Endowments Directorate.
The meeting was attended by Isa Sami Al Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
The meeting focused on the upcoming establishment of a unified General Directorate of Endowments, in light of the recent Royal Decrees (28) and (29) of 2025. These decrees introduce structural reforms to the endowments sector, aimed at streamlining operations, improving governance, and enhancing institutional performance in both the Sunni and Jaafari endowment frameworks.
Minister Al Maawda commended the efforts of Al Saleh and council members in developing places of worship across the Kingdom of Bahrain, to meet the evolving needs of local communities. He also noted their role in maintaining and supporting mosques and Maatams, in line with their social and religious responsibilities.
He highlighted the council’s approach to expanding and managing endowment assets in means that align with their intended religious objectives while also supporting national development goals and contributing to long-term community wellbeing.
