Muscat : A joint statement was issued following the state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Oman from January 14–15, 2025.
The text of the communique is as follows:
“Stemming from the deep-rooted bonds between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain and the distinguished fraternal relations between His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty the Sultan received His Majesty the King, who led a high-ranking delegation on a state-visit to the Sultanate of Oman on 14-15 January 2025. The visit aimed to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the visit, extensive talks were held. The two sides reviewed the progress of joint action and the bilateral cooperation.The two leaders lauded the growth of bilateral relations and mutual interests. They stressed the importance of expanding the scope of cooperation and economic partnership by exploring more opportunities and encouraging the public and private sectors to diversify the areas of economic and investment partnership in a manner that meets the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples. In this context, they welcomed the establishment of the Omani-Bahraini Investment Company, wishing it success.
During the visit, the two sides signed a number of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and executive programmes in various fields of interest to both countries, including sectors and areas that would boost the partnership between the two sides.
The two sides also commended the success made by the Omani-Bahraini Joint Committee and its active role in promoting bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects that serve the interests of the two countries. They underscored the importance of the committee’s continuous efforts to explore new areas of partnership to achieve their common aspirations. These efforts include encouraging economic and investment initiatives between the public and private sectors.
The two monarchs also reviewed the GCC march and the achievements made at the level of the Gulf joint action.
They also discussed a set of regional and international issues of common concern. They stressed the importance of settling disputes and differences through peaceful means and the need to advocate dialogue and international cooperation to back efforts aiming to maintain regional and international security and stability. They also stressed the importance of enhancing consultation and intensifying coordination in their stances in a way that serves common interests and strengthens the pillars of stability, security, and prosperity for all peoples of the region and the world at large.
At the end of the visit, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his utmost thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his accompanying delegation. In turn, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his best wishes of good health and well-being to the King. He also wished the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.”
