Manama : The Ministry of Interior has made significant progress in advancing digital transformation and delivering high-efficiency electronic services, in line with the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Ministry’s efforts focus on leveraging modern technology to serve the community, ensure digital sustainability, enhance cybersecurity, and achieve strategic goals in this field.
The Ministry commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for constructive initiatives that drive digital transformation and improve government service efficiency.
As part of these efforts, the Ministry provides a range of services to citizens and residents through the unified MyGov application, launched by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology. The application is among three strategic projects of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) aimed at strengthening digital transformation and improving service accessibility. The Minister previously affirmed that Bahrain’s commitment to digital governance has positioned the Kingdom among the global leaders in the United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI).
In its initial phase, MyGov offers several public security services, including filing reports with police stations, the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, and the Investigation and Follow-Up Department at the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA). It also enables users to report online child abuse cases. These services are accessible through a streamlined process within the application.
Additionally, the application provides an electronic service for requesting and verifying the validity of Good Conduct Certificates, issued through the Criminal Information Directorate at the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence.
The NPRA services available through MyGov include passport issuance and renewal requests, residency applications and renewals, and the issuance of travel permits, offering a more efficient and accessible alternative to traditional service centers.
The application also includes General Directorate of Traffic services, allowing users to renew driving licenses, pay traffic fines instantly, and renew vehicle registrations without visiting service centers, simplifying traffic-related procedures.
As Bahrain’s first integrated smart national platform, MyGov consolidates more than 41 government services into a single, user-friendly interface. It reflects Bahrain’s digital transformation achievements, which serve as a key pillar of national development, improving service efficiency and leveraging the latest technologies to build a sustainable digital future.
Users can download the MyGov application from the eGovernment Apps Store (bahrain.bh/apps). The platform offers a secure unified login for various government services via the enhanced eKey 2.0 system, featuring biometric authentication (facial recognition) to enhance security and improve the user experience.
