Vienna : General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister, received Gerhard Karner, the Austrian Federal Minister of the Interior.
Karner asserted the importance of the visit of General Shaikh Rashid to promote cooperation and coordination to achieve common goals.
The Interior Minister affirmed that Bahrain enjoys security and stability in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted the role of joint efforts in enhancing security through purposeful programmes and initiatives and the importance of continuing these efforts to improve comprehensive security within the framework of security cooperation and coordination between countries.
The meeting stressed cooperation, expertise exchange, and capability development in security work, addressing global security changes and challenges, and emphasising future visions for strengthening and maintaining security.
The Interior Minister and Austrian counterpart signed a “Declaration of Intent” to enhance security cooperation in law enforcement and criminal justice, to be activated through communication and coordination between the two countries.
