Manama : Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to strengthen its position as a leading regional destination for culture, arts, and creativity, supported by its advanced infrastructure, dynamic cultural environment, and clear vision that has enabled it to attract major artistic events and enhance its presence on the regional and international cultural map.
These remarks were made during a press conference held on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting next week the internationally renowned theatrical production “Wicked The Musical,” one of the world’s most prominent stage productions, to be presented for the first time in the Middle East.
Dr. Al Noaimi noted that hosting this production represents a significant cultural milestone reflecting Bahrain’s ability to attract and host leading global productions. He said that culture and the arts are fundamental to building societal awareness and fostering dialogue with people worldwide.

This, he noted, reflects the Kingdom’s support for meaningful productions, high-quality artistic works, and an integrated environment that embraces creativity and cultural diversity.
The Minister further highlighted that the event is the result of effective cooperation between the public and private sectors, representing a successful partnership model that ensured the production was hosted in line with the highest artistic and organisational standards, while supporting the development of creative and cultural industries.
The Minister expressed his appreciation to the partners who contributed to the success of the event, including sponsors Nad Groups Holding and the National Bank of Kuwait, in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Tarteeb Events and Marketing, and Cineco Bahrain.
He also expressed hope that this production would mark the beginning of expanded cooperation to host more international productions, enhancing the cultural and artistic landscape, meeting audience aspirations, and reinforcing Bahrain’s status as an advanced cultural destination and a beacon of artistic creativity.

Mohammed Al Muharraqi, Chief Executive Officer of Tarteeb Events and Marketing, said that hosting “Wicked The Musical” aligns with a forward-looking vision to attract more leading international productions, enhancing Bahrain’s cultural movement and strengthening its position as a regional hub for high-quality events. He announced coordination with several schools to organise specialised training workshops alongside the production, aimed at sharing expertise from international professionals and developing national talents in the performing arts.
On his part, James Bilios, Managing Director at Broadway Entertainment Group, expressed pride in presenting the production in Bahrain, commending the Kingdom’s strong support for culture and the arts and the creative environment it provides for major artistic works. He also praised the Bahrain National Theatre as a world-class cultural venue meeting the highest international standards.
Bilios thanked the Ministry of Information, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and the organising and sponsoring companies for their cooperation and support, noting that the production aims to introduce Bahraini audiences to large-scale theatrical performances. He expressed hope that the show would receive strong public engagement across the Kingdom.
