Jakarta : Two people died and 21 others were reported missing after heavy rain triggered landslides in Central Java, Indonesian officials said.
The landslides struck on Thursday evening following several days of continuous rainfall, damaging dozens of homes across three villages.
Abdul Muhari, Spokesperson of the National Disaster Management Agency, said unstable ground conditions were slowing search and rescue efforts, which resumed on Friday with support from heavy machinery.
Indonesia regularly faces floods and landslides during the rainy season from October to March.
