Manama : Indian Ladies Association celebrated the Onam festival on the 1st of September in their new premises in Bu-Ghazal. Onam is a harvest festival and was celebrated with great pump and show in all its cultural forms. Mr Yusuf Yaqoob Lori. Director of Information & Follow-up, was the special guest at the event and Dr Amarjit Kaur Sandhu, Consultant Obstetrics, Gynecologist was also present at the occasion.
The program started with lamp lighting and traditional Thiruvathira Kali, the dance performance by ILA Members. Close to 100 members and non-members were present at the venue. The Executive Committee also served the food themselves to the guests. This event was also a part of the ILA membership drive where Mrs Sarada Ajith, the President of ILA emphasised that all the Indian ladies residing in Bahrain should be a part of Indian ladies Association and contribute towards the noble cause of ILA.
