Manama: The Indian Club organized its first ever fish market event ‘The Indian Club Fish Market – Festival of Fish’, at the sports area which turned into a lively, exciting food court for the evening; and judged by number of people who attended and enjoyed the evening’s cooking and festivities.
The multitude of colourfully decorated dining area and surrounded by live cooking stations, served delicious freshly cooked fish either hot off the grill or barbecue or sizzling out of the frying pan or curry pot; also on offer were a range of delicious Indian specialties including appam, neer dosa, idli and puttu were served.
There’s always a special feeling about seeing food cooked ‘live’ and the satisfied smiles on the faces, Thursday night’s fish marketers mentioned that they were experiencing the excitements of the crowd.
The evening wasn’t all about the food; there was melodious music , orchestra by singers and musicians like Dr. Davis, Sobhana Shiva, Jayakumar Varma and Jose, who entertained the diners with a wide range of Indian classics; and there were also various prizes to be won in a number of auctions and competitions.
“As a new team, we want to introduce new activities, new ideas that re-energise the Membership and attract more families back to The Club; I think we made a tremendous start with ‘The Fish Market’ – it was great to see so many Members and their families enjoying a relaxed evening with wonderful food and fantastic entertainment; a big thank you to all those who attended and all the people who supported and made the evening possible”, said Mr. K.M.
