Manama : The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has called on all citizens and residents to activate the alerts and sirens feature available on the MyGov app, as part of precautionary civil protection measures to enhance public safety.
This feature aims to ensure that notifications issued by the relevant official authorities reach the public during emergencies, enabling individuals to take appropriate action in a timely manner and supporting efforts to safeguard lives and property.
The iGA emphasised that the alerts and sirens feature on the MyGov app serves as an effective digital channel during emergencies to boost individual readiness and raise community awareness. It added that the feature complements an integrated system for sending messages and alerts through multiple communication channels, helping ensure that official information and instructions reach the widest possible audience and improve community response in all situations.
To benefit from the service, users are advised to update the MyGov app via the official app stores on iOS, Android, and Huawei devices, and activate the General Notifications option within the app settings.
Citizens and residents can also download the MyGov app by visiting the eGovernment App Store at bahrain.bh/apps.
