Hundreds of customers at Ibn Battuta Mall have said ‘thank you’ to the workers who are keeping Dubai turning through the COVID-19 pandemic by signing a giant tribute board.
Visitors to the world’s largest themed mall flocked to post messages on the 40 square metre wall – dedicated to health workers, drivers, scientists, food suppliers and sanitisation providers – and filled its 328 hearts in just half a day.
Now, a second heroes’ hoarding, double the size of the first one, is being installed at Persia Court, ready to collect another 700-plus signatures this weekend.
Gail Sangster, Asset Director at Nakheel Malls, said: “Our signature wall was a huge hit with our customers, so much so that we are installing another one that is twice as big. It’s wonderful to see so many visitors sharing our appreciation for the effort and dedication of the key workers keeping us all afloat during these challenging times.
“Our tribute board complements a number of other initiatives at our malls, including our Thank Our Local Heroes campaign, which gives gift cards, free tickets and discounts to health workers, running throughout June.”
