Manama : The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Endurance Team Captain, on winning the 160-km race of the Monpazier Endurance Championship in France.
The Cabinet noted HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s sporting achievements, which have enhanced the Kingdom’s position across international sporting events.
The Cabinet extended its best wishes to the Minister of Tourism during her maternity leave period.
The Cabinet then extended its congratulations to the Republic of India on its extraordinary achievement of landing a spacecraft on the moon’s South Pole, wishing India further success in its space exploration efforts.
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council regarding the amendment of civil service regulations and systems, where HRH the Deputy King directed to increase the Employee Excellence Reward to BD 3000. The Reward aims to promote excellence, creativity, and productivity across public sector agencies.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council regarding restructuring and developing the work of several government agencies to increase efficiency and improve performance.
3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision to amend Article II-bis of the edict on Zoning Regulations for Construction across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The memorandum aims to increase building permit application acceptance in accordance with the Zoning Regulations for Construction across the Kingdom of Bahrain, based on an edict issued in 2009, for three months, until 1 December 2023.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an MoU for joint cooperation between Bahrain Polytechnic and Chandigarh University in India.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the invitation to join the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate.
6. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs regarding the acquisition of real estate for public use to provide spaces for urban development.
7. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to nine proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
In addition, the Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:
1. Draft agenda for the 157th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council
2. Participation in the BRICS Summit “BRICS-Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue”
3. Participation in the Third Summit of the International Crimea Platform
4. The external participation of government officials and the visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain
5. Events in the Kingdom of Bahrain for 2023 and 2024
