Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (109) of 2023, promulgating the end-of-service gratuity system for non-Bahrainis working in the private sector, based on a proposal by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, and following the approval of the Cabinet.
The Edict stipulates the following:
Article (I)
The end-of-service gratuity system for non-Bahrainis working in the private sector, attached to this edict, shall be put into effect.
Article (II)
Employers are required to submit data on the wages of their insured workers to the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) within one month after the publication of this edict in the Official Gazette. If employers fail to submit their data within the specified period, contributions will be calculated on the basis of the monthly wage subject to payment to the employment injuries branch.
Article (III)
The Minister of Finance and National Economy shall, based on the agreement of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Organisation, issue the edicts necessary for the implementation of the system attached to this edict.
Article (IV)
The Minister of Finance and National Economy, and those concerned – each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which will come into effect from March 1, 2024, and be published in the Official Gazette.
