Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today attended the 24th race of the 2024–2025 season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted that the ongoing development of the Kingdom’s horse racing sector, due to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the strong participation of enthusiasts underscores Bahrain’s position as a global hub for horseracing.

His Royal Highness highlighted the pivotal role of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa—Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee—in advancing the sport in Bahrain.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended the adoption of initiatives and development plans by the REHC High Committee, that foster a competitive environment for jockeys, owners, and spectators while driving the sport’s continued success.

His Royal Highness reaffirmed that horse racing remains an integral part of Bahrain’s heritage and continues to enjoy widespread popularity. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also noted Bahrain’s continued achievements in the sport on regional and international stages.
The Fatees Al Hajeri Cup, presented by Ali bin Mohammed Al Hajeri, was awarded to jockey Abdul Rahim Jasim, while Yousif Osama Buheji, CEO of REHC, presented the winner of the REHC Cup Race 2 to jockey A.M. Smith.
Additionally, REHC Cup Race 6 was awarded to His Highness Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa. Dhafer Hussain Habeeb presented the late S. Sharaf Al Alawi CUP to the winning owner, Abdulaziz Al Baker.

The race was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the REHC High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, along with several officials and dignitaries.
Winners of the other races were also awarded with trophies, as follows:
The first race, the Fatees Al Hajeri Cup held for 1,200 meters, WAHO, was won by Al Saqlawieh 1932 (BHR) horse of Victorious stable, which managed to clinch its second consecutive victory, despite the intense competition from Al Krush 1854.
The second race, held over a distance of 1,200 meters straight of imported horses, was won by the horse Piz Nair of Al Adiyat Racing – the second victory in the season after galloping past Jehangeer, jockey by Ali Isa, who claimed his first victory for specialised apprentice jockeys.
The third race was held for local bred horses, over a distance of 1200m. The horse “Naahy”, owned by Fata Abdul Halim Majeed, and jockeyd by Hussain Asghar, managed to secure victory, marking his third win.

The fourth race, held for local bred Maiden class horses, over a distance of 1,600 meters, saw the first victory for the mare “Fatal Obsession”, owned by M and E Racing. This mare confirmed her progress and clinched the victory in the race, which saw the largest participation of sixteen horses.
The fifth race, held for imported horses, over a distance of 1,600 meters, saw the return of the horse “Rawyaan”, owned by Hassan Emad Hassan, who claimed victory, jockeyd by Anas Al Siyabi.
The sixth race, The REHC Cup, was held for the third category of first-class imported horses, over a distance of 2,000 meters, and saw a victory for the horse “Return of the Mac”, owned by Al-Mohamediya Racing, jockeyd by Ali Hussain.

The seventh race was held for imported horses, over a distance of 2400 meters. The horse “Tartan Chief” from Al-Mohamediya Racing was able to regain his victories and achieved his first victory this season after a distinguished performance due to the long distance of the round, which the horse excelled at, as he maintained his strength until the last 400 meters from which he started to seize the lead from the horse “Glen Savage” who came in second.
The eighth and final round was held for the Late Sayed Sharaf Al-Alawi Cup, over a distance of 2,400 meters. The race witnessed intense competition, with several horses entering the finish line. The race was decided by a narrow margin in favor of Epic, who scored the first victory for owner Alliance Racing, who have participated for their first time, ridden by jockey Hussain Makki.
