Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and promulgated Law (21) of 2023, amending Law (18) of 2006 with respect to Social Security, following its approval by the Shura and Representatives and Councils.
Article (I)
The definitions in clauses (1) and (2) of Article (I) of Law (18) of 2006 with respect to Social Security shall be replaced by the following:
1 – The Ministry:
The ministry responsible for social development.
2- The Minister:
The minister responsible for social development.
Article (II)
A new paragraph shall be added to Article (III) of Law (18) of 2006 with respect to Social Security, which reads as follows:
Article (III) (new paragraph):
“The Cabinet may add new categories based on the minister’s proposal.”
Article (III)
The Prime Minister and ministers, each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this law, which shall come into effect one day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
