Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (88) of 2024, restructuring the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), based on a proposal by the Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet.
The decree stipulates the following:
Article I
His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa shall be appointed as President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).
Article II
The following shall be appointed as members of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE):
1. His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President.
2. Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.
3. Minister of Oil and Environment.
4. Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications.
5. Minister of Works.
6. Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs.
7. Minister of Health.
8. Minister of Industry and Commerce.
9. CEO of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).
The membership term of the board shall last for four years, renewable.
Article III
The Prime Minister and ministers, each in their capacities, shall implement the provision of this decree, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.
