Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and National Security Advisor; and ministers.
His Majesty the King welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah II on his visit to the Kingdom. Their Majesties discussed regional developments and their implications for security and stability in the region. They addressed the blatant and ongoing Iranian attacks targeting countries in the region, which constitute a violation of state sovereignty and international laws and norms, and pose a threat to international peace and security. His Majesty King Abdullah II reiterated the solidarity of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the measures it undertakes to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to ensure the safety of its citizens.
His Majesty the King also underscored the solidarity of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the face of Iranian attacks targeting its sovereignty and security.
His Majesty the King and His Majesty King Abdullah II underscored the points addressed by Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemned and demanded the immediate cessation of all attacks launched by Iran on the Arab Gulf states and Jordan, and the immediate, unconditional cessation of any provocation or threat to neighboring countries.
Their Majesties emphasised the utmost importance of ending Iran’s threats to disrupt the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international waterway for oil supplies and global trade, which is a violation of international law and the Law of the Sea. They stressed that the protection of maritime routes is a shared international responsibility that requires the cooperation of everyone in the region and the world.
During the meeting, Their Majesties reviewed the deep-rooted ties and means to support and develop cooperation, coordination, and joint action. They commended the advanced level these distinguished relations have reached and the keenness to continue strengthening and documenting them in all domains that serve the aspirations of both countries and benefit the two peoples.
