Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa delivered an address on the occasion of the final ten days of the holy month of Ramadhan. The following is the text of the address:
In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful , May the peace of Allah and his blessings be upon you,
It brings us pleasure, during these blessed nights of the holy month of Ramadhan, as we welcome its final ten days, to extend to all our sincere wishes and prayers that Allah Almighty may grant us the completion of our fasting and prayers, and that He may return this holy month to Bahrain and its people with security, safety, and prosperity, and likewise to the Arab and Islamic nations for many years marked by peace and stability.
In this atmosphere of faith and spirituality, as we reflect upon the blessings and higher purposes embodied in this month of forgiveness, we are reminded of our duty to uphold the noble values of our faith and to remain firmly guided by its enduring principles in belief, conduct, and tolerance.
In doing so, we embody the greater purposes of our faith that elevate our societies to the highest ideals of compassion, solidarity, and human unity.
On this occasion, we thank Allah Almighty for the national cohesion and spirit of fraternity that our beloved Kingdom enjoys- where people of different religions and beliefs coexist in a harmonious and civilised setting that inspires pride and reassurance. In this context, we emphasise the importance of preserving the distinctive character of our enlightened society and the noble values that generations have inherited and safeguarded in both word and deed.
From this perspective, we express our deep regret over the unprecedented attacks that have targeted our beloved nation, as well as our brethren Arab states and friend nations that cannot be justified under any pretext by Iran. Bahrain has always been, and will remain, a nation of peace that has never initiated hostility toward any party, and has consistently pursued the path of cooperation and good neighbourliness. We express our highest appreciation for the readiness, vigilance, and sense of national responsibility demonstrated by our armed forces and their courageous servicmen, and all relevant authorities. Through their firm response, these attempts were thwarted, and the security of the nation and the safety of citizens and residents were preserved. It is an effort of which we are deeply proud and one that will remain etched in the nation’s memory.
We also take this opportunity to express our pride and appreciation to our valued citizens for the sincere national spirit they have demonstrated through their loyalty and deep sense of belonging during these critical times. They have consistently proven true to the trust placed in them, capable of overcoming challenges and confronting threats, regardless of their source.
Amid these developments, Bahrain has been fortunate to receive genuine support and backing from its brethren, most notably the Gulf solidarity that has once again manifested itself in its finest form. We were also deeply heartened by the calls and messages received from brethren and friend nations from around the world, affirming their full support for the Kingdom and its stability, and conveying their best wishes to all. We take pride in such positions that reflect the respect and esteem our country enjoys internationally.
Despite the challenges, Bahrain will remain, with Allah’s blessing, firmly committed wisdom and moderation, proceeding with confidence and balance in fulfilling its responsibilities toward its Arab region and the international community. In this spirit, our decision to join the Board of Peace concerned with the reconstruction of Gaza reflects the clarity of our national positions and the alignment of our policies with efforts aimed at promoting peace, supporting reconstruction, and creating the conditions necessary for lasting stability.
We also take this opportunity, as the country marks the Year of Isa Al Kabeer, to direct our constitutional institutions to exert necessary effort to safeguard the nation’s core principles and reinforce them, to further advance action to deliver development and productivity, and to mobilise all capabilities in advancing Bahrain’s reform process and preserving its ever-renewing spirit.
In conclusion, as Eid Al Fitr draws near, we extend our congratulations to all on this happy occasion, praying to Allah Almighty to continue to bestow upon our dear nation and its people dignity, pride, and security.
May the peace of Allah and his blessings be upon you
