Manama : His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, today received Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Jumaa, the Education Minister.
Present were His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, GSA Deputy Chairman, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Askar, GSA CEO.
HH Shaikh Khalid commended the efforts of the Education Ministry in supporting the sports sector in line with the policies of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the strategies of the GSA and BOC, which reflect positively on the development of Bahrain sports; considering that schools are where sports talents are discovered.
HH was briefed on the plans and programmes to be conducted by the ministry to promote school sports and optimise physical education classes. HH also discussed joint programmes aimed at discovering young talent and promoting a culture of sports in schools, urging efforts to be maximised to achieve those objectives.
The minister underlined the importance of Bahraini sports achievements, supported by HH Shaikh Khalid.
He affirmed the commitment of the ministry to adopting initiatives and projects that contribute to further developing the sports sector in Bahrain.
