Manama : Her Highness Shaikha Nayla bint Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Royal Life Saving Bahrain (RLSB), attended the official launch of the Elliott Walsh Defibrillator Fund, an initiative to provide defibrillators across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The initiative aims to provide automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in key locations and sports facilities to improve survival rates and reduce the risks associated with sudden cardiac arrest. It is a key step towards enhancing out-of-hospital cardiac emergency response and raising community awareness.
Her Highness expressed pride in launching the fund, which supports efforts to strengthen emergency response readiness for cardiac incidents throughout the Kingdom.
HH Shaikha Nayla bint Hamad highlighted that the foundation places preventive safety awareness at the forefront of its priorities. Her Highness emphasised the importance of launching impactful programmes and initiatives that support national efforts to promote public health, and underlined the need to equip individuals with basic rescue skills to handle critical situations effectively.
HH Shaikha Nayla bint Hamad noted that the fund reflects the effective partnership between the public and private sectors and a strong sense of social responsibility aimed at building an integrated rescue system to save lives. Work is ongoing to expand the initiative to cover all areas of Bahrain.
The RLSB invited organisations and individuals wishing to support the initiative to contact the foundation via email at info@rlsbahrain.org or by calling 17238888.
