Manama : Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, attended the inauguration of the Al Roudha Camp Roundabout.
At the centre of the roundabout stands a memorial dedicated to the achievement of the Royal Guard team that scaled Mount Everest, with the climbers themselves attending the opening ceremony.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that the memorial stands as a testament to the courage and determination of the Royal Guard personnel who raised the Bahraini flag on the world’s highest peak. His Highness said it reflects the spirit of challenge and perseverance embraced by the people of Bahrain, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted that the Royal Guard’s accomplishment will remain a milestone in Bahrain’s history, noting that it was not only a sporting achievement but also a national message symbolising teamwork, unity, and the enduring determination of Bahrainis. He added that the memorial serves as a lasting symbol for future generations, embodying the resolve and commitment of the Royal Guard heroes.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad received Bahraini artist Khaleel Al Madhoon, President of the Bahrain Contemporary Art Society, who designed the memorial. His Highness commended Al Madhoon’s efforts in highlighting the Royal Guard’s achievement and wished him continued success.
At the conclusion of the event, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad received a commemorative gift from Brigadier Khaled Mohammed Al Dosari, designed by Al Madhoon.
