His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, today attended the final of the 21st Asian Men’s Handball Championship, held today between Qatar and Japan at the Khalifa Sports City Hall.
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, GSA Deputy Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Undersecretary, BOC Vice-President, Badr Dhiyab, Vice-President of the International Handball Federation for Asia, and Ali Isa Ishaqi, Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) President, and several Asian Handball Federation (AHF), attended the closing ceremony of the Asian handball championship.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad crowned the winners of the first three places of the 21st Asian Men’s Handball Championship.
His Highness congratulated the Qatar national handball team on winning the championship, praising their distinguished performance throughout the tournament, which entitled them to clinch the Asian title well deservedly. He also commended the performance of runners-up, Japan, wishing them success in future tournaments.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad congratulated the Bahrain national handball team following their qualification for the World Handball Championship for the seventh time, after clinching the third place of the 21st Asian Men’s Handball Championship, wishing them every success in the next edition.
His Highness lauded the BHF’s outstanding organisation of the Asian championship, hailing the fruitful efforts exerted by the sub-organising committees in this regard, confirming Bahrain’s distinction in hosting mega sports events.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed appreciation for all participating teams, praising the remarkable presence of the national team supporters.
