London : His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, today attended the annual Bahrain Trophy, as part of the July Festival at Newmarket Racecourse in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
His Highness emphasised the importance of further developing, and investing in, the horse racing sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that Bahrain’s global competitiveness and positioning in the horse racing industry continues to advance with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness outlined that this annual event continues to solidify relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and strengthens their wide-ranging joint collaborations.
His Highness then presented trophies to the winners of the Bahrain Trophy for each three rounds of the race. His Highness presented the Kingdom Of Bahrain July Stakes (Group 2) Cup to HH Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammad bin Salman Al Khalifa, the owner of the winning horse Jasour of the Muhammadiyah Racing, after winning first place in the second race, under the trainer Clive Cox, and led by the jockey Jim Crowley.
His Highness also presented the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes (Group 2), sponsored by the Kingdom of Bahrain, to HH Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the owner of the winning horse Israr, after winning first place in the fourth race, under the trainer J & T Gosden, and led by the jockey Jim Crowley.
His Highness presented the Bahrain Trophy Stakes (Group 3) to the representative of the Godolphin stable, Hamdan bin Sultan Al Sabousi, the owner of the winning horse Castle Way, after winning first place in the first race, under the trainer Charlie Appleby and led by the jockey William Buick.
His Highness also presented trophies to the jockeys who won the Bahrain Trophy, wishing everyone further success.
