Manama : In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the REHC High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the REHC held the second race of the 2025–2026 season at its racecourse in Al Raffah, Sakhir, featuring the Cups of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) and the late Abdulhadi Al Afoo.
The event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa; and His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, along with a number of Their Highnesses, dignitaries, and sponsors’ representatives.
The race attracted a large public turnout, with spectators following the nine competitive rounds amid a lively atmosphere complemented by various entertainment activities. The event also reflected the club’s strong organisation and the continued progress of the racing season.
His Highness Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the seventh-round trophy from Eng. Fadhel Al Ansari, Executive Advisor at GPIC, while Eng. Bader Al Mansoori, Plants Operation Manager at GPIC, presented the ninth-round trophy to winning trainer Paul Smith.
Yasser Al Abbasi, CEO of GPIC, presented the third-round trophy to winning owner Sayed Jawad Marzooq, while Abdulredha Al Afoo, Managing Director of Al Afoo Company, presented the late Abdulhadi Al Afoo Cup to winning owner Aqeel Abdalrahim.
