Bahrain : HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, has expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of Team Bahrain Victorious’ cyclist Gino Mader who died following a crash on the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse. HH Shaikh Nasser published the news of Mader’s unfortunate death along with his picture on his personal Instagram account, recalling his achievements and positive contributions during his cycling career, including winning the sixth stage of Giro d’Italia.
Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser offered his sincere sympathy to the family of the deceased and Team Bahrain Victorious. It’s worth noting that Mader was involved in a crash while participating in the Tour de Suisse, and he was declared dead despite the efforts of the medical team to revive him.
Team Bahrain Victorious said in a statement that the team is devastated following the sad death of Mader, stating: “We are devastated by the loss of our exceptional cyclist, Gino Mader. His talent, dedication, and enthusiasm were an inspiration to us all. Not only was he an extremely talented cyclist, but a great person off the bike. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. Bahrain Victorious will race in his honour, keeping his memory on every road we race. We are determined to show the spirit and passion Gino displayed, and he will always remain an integral part of our team.”
