Manama : Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, received Dr. Sasha Thomas, Consultant and Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Nova Claudia Hospital in Italy, during his visit to Bahrain.
Dr. Thomas is an expert in orthopaedic surgery and joint replacements, specialising in knee and hip replacement procedures.
The CEO of Government Hospitals emphasised that such visits facilitate the exchange of expertise and insights into the latest developments in the global medical sector, thereby enhancing the healthcare system in Bahrain.
Dr. Hazem Al A’Ali, General Manager of Surgical Services at Government Hospitals and coordinator of the visit, highlighted the hospitals’ commitment to improving patient care in Bahrain by fostering relationships with international health institutions and enhancing the skills and capabilities of the medical staff through exposure to the latest techniques and best practices.
Dr Thomas expressed his appreciation to the CEO of Government Hospitals and all the staff at Government Hospitals, commending their efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services for citizens and residents in Bahrain.
He also praised the significant role played by the orthopaedic department at Salmaniya Medical Complex.
Dr. Thomas toured the orthopaedic wards at Salmaniya Medical Complex to observe the latest treatment techniques used in government hospitals and discussed potential collaboration opportunities between Salmaniya Medical Complex and hospitals abroad.
