Manama : Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation in the signing of the Peace Board Charter, undertaken on the directive of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and represented by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court. The ceremony was held at the invitation and in the presence of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, alongside representatives of board member states.
The Foreign Minister said the signing of the founding charter by the Minister of the Prime Minister’s court alongside other countries, marking the formal launch of the Peace Board as an international body, reflected Bahrain’s balanced and forward-looking diplomatic approach under the leadership of His Majesty the King, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He affirmed that this approach is rooted in Bahrain’s firm support for the Palestinian cause, the pursuit of a just and lasting peace, and the promotion of sustainable development at regional and global levels.
Dr. Al Zayani expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic efforts and initiatives led by the President of the United States and its support for the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for the Gaza Strip. This includes sustaining the ceasefire, ensuring humanitarian access, supporting reconstruction, and fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state, in accordance with UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and the two-state solution. He also underscored the pride of the Kingdom in the historical and strategic partnership with the United States within the framework of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, (C-SIPA) and their shared commitment to laying the foundations for security, peace, and sustainable development for the peoples of the region and the world at large.
He added that Bahrain, through its non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term and its membership of the Peace Board, will continue to contribute actively and responsibly to international efforts, in coordination with the United Nations, to strengthen peace, stability, and multilateral cooperation, and to promote dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence worldwide.
