Manama : Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain with an accompanying delegation.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the strong ties between the two countries and the steady progress of bilateral cooperation across various domains. He noted the shared efforts to expand cooperation and make use of available opportunities to benefit both nations and peoples.
On his part, Bayramov expressed his pleasure at making his first visit to Bahrain, highlighting the shared interest of both leaderships in advancing bilateral relations, exchanging visits and expertise. He emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, and development areas of mutual interest.
The ministers reviewed bilateral relations and their ongoing development, exploring means to further develop cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and investment domains, as well as financial technology, ICT, and tourism. They also discussed the exchange of official visits and advancing diplomatic coordination between both ministries in international forums.
Regional and international developments were also discussed, including conflicts threatening regional security and global peace. The two ministers reviewed Arab and international diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, and support peace efforts in the region. Views were also exchanged on key regional and global challenges and issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; and Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Chief of the Asia and Pacific Affairs Sector.
From the Azerbaijani side, the meeting was attended by Shahin Abdullayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bahrain, resident in Riyadh, and the accompanying delegation.
