Manama : Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a reception hosted by Vinod Kurian Jacob, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, to mark the Republic Day of India.
Dr. Al Zayani relayed the greetings and congratulations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Republic of India, along with their wishes for continued peace, progress, and prosperity. He also extended congratulations to the Government and people of India and to members of the Indian community in Bahrain.

The Foreign Minister said that the Bahrain–India partnership is not based solely on shared visions and mutual interests, but is also characterised by the close ties that distinguish relations between the two countries and their peoples. He highlighted the role of the Bahrain–India High Joint Commission and of Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, as well as the outcomes of the Commission’s meetings, the alignment of the two countries as partners, and the availability of many promising areas for constructive cooperation.

He added that, as the Kingdom assumes its non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, it will continue to work closely with partners in India to advance their shared commitment to supporting peace, security, and sustainable development at the regional and international levels, reiterating Bahrain’s commitment to enhance cooperation, bilateral relations, and partnership.
On his part, Ambassador Jacob highlighted the longstanding relations between the two countries and their continued strength, underpinned by mutual commitment to enhance and develop them across various domains in a manner that serves shared interests and benefits both countries and their peoples. He wished the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
