Manama : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the facilitation of repatriation for all citizens abroad who wish to come home from countries affected by current events. This was made possible after airspace in these countries opened, either fully or partially.

The repatriation of citizens was carried out following the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in implementation of the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The last two aircraft from Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, arrived from the Republic of Turkmenistan. On board were 203 citizens whose return was facilitated from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The return of 103 citizens from various countries affected by airspace closures was also secured and facilitated.

The ministry has facilitated the return of 2,586 citizens to Bahrain from Iran, the Republic of Iraq, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Armenia. This was done using nine Gulf Air aircraft and 37 buses overland.
The ministry wishes to express appreciation to the diplomatic missions of the Gulf Cooperation Council states for their cooperation and support in these efforts. It also thanks Iraq and Turkmenistan for their assistance in facilitating the procedures for Bahraini citizens through border crossings.
