Manama : The Embassy of India organised open house on February 28, 2025 chaired by Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Vinod Kurian Jacob. The Embassy’s consular team and panel of lawyers were also present. More than 25 Indian nationals participated in the Open House conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.
Ambassador commenced the Open House by offering greetings on the occasion of Ramadan. Ambassador expressed his happiness with the active involvement of the Indian Community in the second edition of the ‘India in Bahrain Festival’, which was organized by the Embassy on February 21, 2025 in collaboration with Indian community associations, Lulu and Dana Mall. He also expressed gratitude for their engagement in the ‘Indian Film Festival’, organized by the Embassy at Epix Cinemas on February 22, 2025.
Most of the cases raised during the last open house have been resolved. The Embassy continues to assist distressed house maids by providing boarding and lodging, as well as issuing Emergency Certificates and air-tickets to distressed people through Government of India’s Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF). Legal assistance from ICWF has also been provided to distressed Indian nationals on means tested basis.
It was a fruitful interactive session. The grievances/issues of the Indian community were successfully addressed; some resolved at the open house, while others will be taken up at the earliest possible. Ambassador thanked all the Indian associations and community members for their active participation in the open house.
