Manama : The Embassy of India, Bahrain marked the 78th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2024. Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob presided the Flag Hoisting Ceremony held at the Embassy premises attended by more than 800 members of the Indian community.
Ambassador also offered flowers to the Father of Nation.
Following the flag hoisting, Ambassador read out the President of India’s message to the Indian community, emphasizing the nation’s progress and aspirations.
The Ambassador took the opportunity to brief the attendees on various initiatives undertaken by the Embassy including the “Focus State,” and “Visit Embassy” initiatives.
As part of the “एक पेड़ माँके नाम” (A Tree in Mother’s Name), Ambassador planted a Neem sapling in the Embassy. The Embassy also showcased two photo exhibitions: one offering a visual journey through the significant moments and heroism of Indian soldiers during the Kargil War, and another highlighting the tragic impact of the partition to commemorate Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
Ambassador issued messages commemorating the 78th Independence Day through various media outlets in Bahrain through video and print interviews, and interactive campaigns.
Ambassador highlighted the significant milestones India has achieved, and the strides made in India-Bahrain bilateral relations in the interviews and messages.
