Manama : On the occasion of 76th Republic Day of India, the national flag was unfurled by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob at a solemn ceremony held at the premises of the Indian Embassy in Seef.
It may be recalled that it was on 26 January 1950 that India’s founding document, the Constitution of India, came into effect after nearly three years of debates.
The ceremony was attended by around 1000 members of Indian community. It began with offering of flowers to the father of the nation- Mahatma Gandhi.
During the ceremony, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob read excerpts from the address to the Nation by Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
The event also witnessed rendition of patriotic songs by a visiting cultural troupe from Himachal Pradesh.
