Manama : During the Diplomatic Forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Bahrain Diplomatic Day, a session was held under the title “Managing Bilateral Relations and Agreements in Advancing Development”.
The session was moderated by Ambassador Ali Jassim Al Aradi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Algeria.
Al Aradi highlighted the important role of bilateral relations in the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that bilateral agreements are an effective tool in promoting cooperation between countries, adding that the achievement of development in the Kingdom depends to a great extent on the optimal utilization of these agreements.
Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Chief of Asian and Pacific Affairs, addressed the role of Desk Officers in promoting bilateral relations, noting the importance of building a generation of specialized experts in specific countries, which would contribute to better follow-up of bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and other countries.
She added that Desk Officers, who are responsible for the oversight of relations with a particular country, play an important role in facilitating communication and follow-up with the Bahraini missions abroad, noting that coordination of communication and action between the different political sectors at the Foreign Ministry of different geographical sectors contributes to consolidating the political message of the Kingdom and enhances implementation of the ministry’s priorities in various fields.
Ambassador Rana Mohammed Hassan, Director of Information Systems, gave a detailed presentation on the newly launched online platform of bilateral relations to follow up and strengthen relations between Bahrain and other countries. She explained that the platform includes all conventions, memoranda of understanding, and operational programs, divided into key areas such as the economic, consular, and security fields.
She also noted that the platform contains performance measurement tools, which help follow up on the progress of projects and initiatives in real-time and facilitate decision-making based on available information, highlighting that the platform allows all parties concerned to update information and follow up on achievements regularly, which contributes to transparency and promotes the effectiveness of the implementation of bilateral initiatives between the Kingdom and other countries.
At the end of the session, the online bilateral relations platform was reviewed in detail, and a short video was presented explaining how the platform works and how it can be used to monitor and document bilateral relations between Bahrain and other countries.
