Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to inaugurate The Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO), held under the theme ‘Energy for a prosperous future: Leading a sustainable tomorrow’.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, remains committed to supporting the energy sector, reflecting the Kingdom’s recognition of its pivotal role in achieving comprehensive growth and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted that, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies, the oil and gas sector continues to advance through balanced policies that combine the expansion of production capacity and operational efficiency on the one hand, and the improvement of environmental impact on the other.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that these efforts align with the Kingdom’s national sustainability objectives and measured transition goals, driving the sector toward greater modernisation and development.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah further explained that the progress witnessed in Bahrain’s energy ecosystem over recent years is the outcome of diversifying the energy mix, developing regulatory frameworks, strengthening international partnerships, and systematically investing in the training and qualification of Bahraini professionals across related disciplines.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of the MEOS GEO, both in terms of attendance and participation, noting its contribution to supporting Bahrain’s efforts to consolidate its position as a regional and global hub for innovative energy solutions.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the organising bodies, foremost among them the Ministry of Oil and Environment. He expressed hope that the discussions and dialogues held during the event will lead to practical recommendations that drive the progress and sustainability of the oil and gas sector across the region.
On his part, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, expressed his appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for patronising the MEOS GEO.
He also expressed appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the opening ceremony, describing this as a reflection of the government’s keenness to host specialised international events that contribute to the development of this sector and strengthen opportunities for partnership, innovation, and cooperation.
He emphasised that the conference represents a key platform for enhancing regional and international coordination and integration in the fields of energy and geosciences, as it showcases the latest innovations and advanced technologies contributing to the development of the global energy ecosystem.
Dr. Bin Dainah noted that the wide participation of leading national and international institutions underscores confidence in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a trusted destination for high-level technical and research-focused events.
Following the opening, the Deputy Prime Minister inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, featuring the participation of more than 120 local, regional, and international companies representing key players in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the attendees toured the exhibition and were briefed on the latest technological innovations and advanced engineering solutions, including artificial intelligence applications, digital geological analysis technologies, reservoir monitoring systems, and enhanced recovery methods for natural resources.
