Abuja : The death toll from a boat sinking in Niger State, north-central Nigeria, has risen to 60.
Abdullahi Baba Ara, Chairman of Borgu Local Government Area, said the figure is likely to increase, noting that 10 people are in critical condition while many remain missing.
Sa’adu Inuwa Muhammad, Chairman of Shagumi Local Government Area, said the boat was carrying more than 100 people, adding that most of the victims were women and children
