Manama : The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has passed the Universal Security Audit Programme (USAP) in accordance with the monitoring approach of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) with distinction, attaining an international achievement for civil aviation security and safety.
This achievement reflects the commitment of the Civil Aviation Affairs and all the official bodies operating at the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) to ensuring compliance with international standards stipulated in Annexes 17 and 9 of the Convention on Civil Aviation, as well as the standards issued by ICAO.
Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transpiration and Telecommunications, affirmed that Bahrain’s success is the outcome of the continuous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and that of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He commended the outcomes of the audit, which were the result of the great effort made by specialists in Civil Aviation Affairs, and the positive cooperation of all parties concerned with aviation security, particularly the Ministry of Interior and the relevant companies and official bodies in implementing international standards efficiently and effectively.
