Marrakesh :Carlos Hernández, President of the Central American and Caribbean Parliament, met with Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation on the sidelines of the third Marrakesh Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region, organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. The meeting discussed prospects for parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of views on common issues.
The delegation included MPs Mohammed Musa Al Balooshi and Hanan Fardan.
Hernández commended the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in promoting parliamentary diplomacy with international parliamentary unions. He noted shared priorities with the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly in the areas of women’s political inclusion and Bahrain’s openness across all domains.
On his part, Al Balooshi emphasised Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to legislative and oversight work, supported by His Majesty the King. He underlined the importance of building bridges with parliaments in Central America and the Caribbean for the benefit of all nations. He also noted Bahraini women’s pivotal role in democratic and political life, supported by full guarantees for effective participation, along with their high academic standing in the education sector.
On her part, Fardan underscored that the directives of HM the King focus on advancing parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing Bahrain’s active presence in international parliamentary forums.
She added that Bahraini women have always been at the forefront across all domains, citing their appointment to leading positions in both Arab and international parliamentary bodies.
Hernández thanked the Bahraini delegation for their engagement and expressed his hope to continue the dialogue in the near future.
