Manama : Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), stated that the robust growth of the tourism industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain is creating a plethora of opportunities for Bahraini entrepreneurs interested in establishing tourism and hospitality-related projects, such as F&B services, travel agencies, tour operators, and more, encouraging entrepreneurs to capitalize on this growth and high revenues scored in the previous year, grossing over 1.5 billion BD.
Dr. Qaedi made the statements during his meeting with EO Bahrain members at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir, where they discussed the promising investment prospects in the tourist sector available to entrepreneurs and investors, as well as exhibiting Bahrain’s tourism strategy 2022-2026 and the future roadmap.
During the meeting, Dr. Qaedi emphasised the tourism ministry’s support and incentives for entrepreneurs to launch and expand tourism-focused projects, encouraging innovation and development in this sector, and recognizing the importance of entrepreneurs as the primary catalyst for enhancing the tourism sector and transforming it into a high-value-added industry. He asserted that the tourism sector offers numerous exceptional investment opportunities that can lead to exceptional financial returns and new business models, as well as expand their client base by increasing Bahraini entrepreneurs’ participation in managing and developing the tourism sector through innovative tourism projects and services.
BTEA CEO also reviewed the main objectives and pillars of the tourism strategy and its implementation steps, as well as the BTEA plan to increase the private sector’s participation in promoting Bahrain as an international tourism destination, in addition to highlighting the sector’s most recent tourism achievements and statistics.
Dr. Qaedi emphasised the BTEA’s desire to strengthen collaboration with entrepreneurs, local and international organizations, and societies in order to promote the quantum leap of Bahrain’s tourism sector, attract more regional and global tourists and investors, and achieve mutual goals in increasing the sector’s contribution to national prosperity. He stated that tourism is one of the most vibrant industries in the national economy, with significant growth in various areas such as hotels, resorts, and cultural and entertainment activities.
