Manama : Sara Ahmed Buhijji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), held a meeting with representatives of the hospitality sector in conjunction with the celebration of Arab Tourism Day.
The meeting reviewed key developments and initiatives led by BTEA to drive tourism growth and discussed ways to enhance collaboration between the authority and hotel establishments.
Buhijji highlighted the vital role of the hospitality sector in supporting and promoting tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She also underscored the importance of cooperation across all tourism sectors to provide a comprehensive and distinguished visitor experience, in line with Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
She emphasised that hotels are key partners in strengthening Bahrain’s position as a leading tourist destination by providing exceptional visitor experiences and contributing to the sector’s growth.
The meeting also showcased upcoming events and activities in Bahrain, aimed at attracting more visitors and boosting tourism, which in turn positively impacts hotel occupancy rates and increases the number of visitor nights.
Representatives of hotel establishments underscored the importance of regular industry meetings in developing communication and collaboration with BTEA. They emphasised their commitment to actively supporting shared goals and advancing the hospitality sector in Bahrain.
