Bahrain has retained its membership in the Emergency Committee of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) for the new session 2024-2025, following the union’s General Assembly renewal of confidence in the Executive Council of the Committee.
The committee’s elections were held today, as part of the ASBU’s 43rd General Assembly and the 110th Executive Council.
Abdulla Khalid Al Dosari, the Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs at the Information Ministry, affirmed that renewing Bahrain’s membership in the Executive Council of the ASBU reflects the kingdom’s expertise, advanced capabilities, and professionalism. Which contributes to the committee’s work, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Bahrain, in line with the royal directives, is keen to further enhance joint Arab action via its media messages aimed at developing Arab cooperation, Al Dosari added.
Al Dosari pointed out that the response from the participating members regarding supporting this year’s summit held in Bahrain represents a phase in developing a joint Arab framework as well as reflecting the kingdom’s commitment to enhancing Arab cooperation at various levels.
He noted that the efforts made by Bahrain in the past through its membership in the Executive Council have been respected and appreciated.
The kingdom has contributed actively to finding proper solutions to emergency matters that face the ASBU and making the proper decisions, especially considering the fast-paced developments in the media sector which contributed to achieving the committee’s goals.
Al Dosari said that the fast-paced developments in the world require further Arab efforts to promote values of coexistence, which is considered one of the kingdom’s constant messages in the media.
