Manama : Bahrain national mixed martial arts (MMA) team is set to participate in the 10th edition of the IMMAF World Amateur MMA Championships, organised by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in collaboration with Team Bahrain, to be held on November 1-13 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The national MMA team has intensified its preparations, aiming to achieve peak physical and technical readiness for this global competition. The team aspires to make a strong showing and achieve positive results.
Entering this championship with high hopes, the national team seeks to replicate its success from the 8th World MMA Championship, held in Belgrade, Serbia, in February 2023, where it secured first place among participating nations. In that edition, Bahrain won eight gold medals and one bronze in the senior category, along with one gold and two bronzes in the junior category.
In the 9th edition of the championship, held in Albania in November 2023, the national team achieved third place, finishing with two golds and one silver in the open category. Tajikistan claimed first place with four gold, three silver, and three bronze medals, while Brazil secured second with three gold medals.
