MANAMA: Bahrain Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, on Wednesday launched “MBMA Majalis”, which is organized virtually in its first edition by the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies.
The programme is designed for the Foreign Ministry’s personnel, with the participation of a number of Ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad.
The minister delivered a speech in which he commended the academy, headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, for holding these majalis, which will serve as a joint platform for exchanging practices, visions and ideas, among a group of diplomats whom we are proud to have them among us in the Kingdom.
He praised the participation of the ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries accredited to the Kingdom, and Bahraini Ambassadors abroad, who will contribute to enriching these meetings with their knowledge and long-standing diplomatic experience, in addition to life experiences rich in useful lessons for young diplomats.
Dr. Al-Zayani noted he was impressed with the name of the programme, as it embraces our culture, whose leadership and people always have their majlis open for everyone, reflecting the kindness and unity of Bahraini people.
He said that Bahraini diplomacy bears in mind basic pillars, namely peace, sustainable development and human rights, adding that dialogue between nations and peoples has always been our way to achieve these diplomatic goals.
He said that the ministry, through these meetings, seeks to consolidate the link and extend a bridge of understanding between members of diplomatic missions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
MBMA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also delivered a speech, in which she expressed her thanks to the Foreign Minister for his constant support the programmes of the Academy and its initiatives. She also emphasized on intensifying the Academy’s efforts to enrich the cognitive aspects through programmes targeting young diplomats in particular.
“MBMA Majalis” started its works with a lecture by the German Ambassador to Bahrain, Kai Boeckmann, who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak in this Majlis. He also extended his thanks to the Foreign Minister, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Political Affairs, and to the CEO of MBMA.
The Ambassador highlight several topics about the administrative development of the Foreign Ministry in Germany, and on his professional experience through this development, including the importance of continuous investment in people, along with infrastructure, noting the importance of setting realistic and achievable goals in this area.
To conclude, the Ambassador renewed his thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for hosting him as the first speaker in “MBMA Majalis”.
