Manama : The fourth edition of the Bahrain Film Festival will take place on November 3-7, as part of “Manama: Capital of Arab Media.”
The event, supported by Marassi Bahrain and the Saudi Film Commission, will be held at Marassi Galleria.
The festival will commence with a red-carpet ceremony, welcoming some of the most prominent stars and filmmakers from across the Arab world. Following the opening addresses by organisers and official sponsors, the inaugural film screening will take place, with Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information, honouring distinguished figures who have contributed to Arab cinema.
The five-day festival will feature eight artistic workshops and discussion panels, aimed at empowering Arab women, spotlighting their stories in film, and reshaping prevailing stereotypes that often misrepresent Arab women’s roles and ambitions. These sessions also present a valuable opportunity for Bahraini youth to engage with the world of cinema, acquire technical and creative skills in cinematography, screenwriting, visual storytelling, and film production. Participants will gain insights into the filmmaking process, from concept and script development to film production.
The festival management highlighted that this fourth edition will showcase a diverse selection of 89 short Arab films, competing in five categories: short narrative films, short documentaries, student films, animated films, and Bahraini films.
