Mina : On the second day of Eid Al Adha, which is also the first day of Tashreeq, pilgrims in Mina began the ritual of throwing pebbles at the three Jamarat, starting with the Small Jamarah, then the Middle Jamarah, and finally Jamarat Al Aqaba, following in the footsteps of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The stoning ritual was carried out according to a well-structured plan developed through collaboration and coordination among various relevant authorities, supported by prompt field oversight. This approach significantly enhanced the safety and security of the pilgrims, allowing them to perform their Hajj rituals with ease and tranquility.
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a royal decree pardoning 209 inmates on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. The royal pardon includes individuals convicted in various offences who have served part of their sentences, in addition to a number of individuals under alternative sentencing. The pardon reflects His Majesty the King’s commitment to provide those pardoned with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and contribute to Bahrain’s comprehensive development process under the leadership of HM the King.
Berlin : German police said that nine passengers were injured when a Milan-bound Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Germany due to severe turbulence caused by a thunderstorm. Police said that bad weather led the pilot to make the emergency landing in Memmingen, about 113 kilometres west of Munich. The aircraft was carrying 179 passengers and six crew members.
Manama : INJAZ Bahrain concluded its 17th annual Young Entrepreneurs Competition at Crowne Plaza Bahrain, showcasing over 1,000 students from secondary schools and universities. The event marked INJAZ Bahrain’s 20th anniversary and featured 20 student companies competing in various challenges. Five special awards were introduced, sponsored by leading Bahraini companies. The event also launched INJAZ Bahrain’s Company Programme series and closed the second Entaliq programme with NBB. Sponsors included Alba, Tamkeen, Beyon, Bapco Energies, Basrec, bni, CrediMax, and NBB. The winning teams will represent Bahrain at the regional Young Entrepreneurs Competition in Egypt in November.
Manama : Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), visited Helsinki International Airport to review Finland’s experience in implementing smart border control systems. The visit included meetings with officials from the Finnish Border Control Administration and Helsinki Airport Company (Finavia). Abu Dhabi : Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced the signing of agreements with Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) to explore opportunities to develop bauxite-related projects in Ghana. Under the agreements, EGA and GIADEC will explore long-term partnerships for bauxite offtake and the development of rail and port infrastructure to expand production. Bauxite is the raw material used to make aluminium. Ghana has more than 900 million tonnes of bauxite resources, distributed between one large and two smaller deposits, and currently produces around 1.5 million tonnes of bauxite annually.
