Manama : In a new international achievement for the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has won membership in the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028. Manama : Customs Affairs, in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority, announced the launch of the Electronic Certificate of Origin System as the official platform for issuing certificates of origin for preferential transactions. This initiative forms part of the digital transformation of customs services, aiming to streamline procedures and accelerate service delivery. Amman :The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today approved a $134 million disbursement to Jordan following the completion of the third review under the Extended Fund Facility. The IMF’s Executive Board also approved a new 30 month $700 million programme under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility to support Jordan’s structural reforms. Washington : Senate Republicans have proposed an amendment to the US tax and budget bill that would eliminate existing federal tax credits for electric vehicle (EV) purchases. The revised proposal would end the $7,500 credit for new EVs starting September 30, and cancel the $4,000 credit for used vehicles. Cairo : Fourteen people were killed and six others injured in a major collision between a heavy transport truck and a microbus on the regional road in Ashmoun, Menoufia governorate, northern Egypt. Both vehicles were completely destroyed. The victims were transferred to Ashmoun General Hospital, which raised its emergency readiness to receive the injured.
