Manama: Backdated pensions have been disbursed immediately to (195) beneficiaries who have been accepted in the Khatwa Home Projects Programme after fulfilling eligibility requirements, said the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO). Port-Au-Prince : One person died and 14 others were rescued after an overloaded boat traveling without authorization capsized near Haiti’s southern coast, authorities said Saturday. Among the survivors is a person who was hospitalized in critical condition, according to Haiti’s Civil Protection Agency. It said authorities are still looking for an undetermined number of people. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Saudi Arabia next week in an effort to bolster US-Saudi strategic co-operation, the State Department said on Friday. The June 6-8 trip comes as both the US and Saudi Arabia are seeking to broker a durable ceasefire between Sudan’s warring generals.
