Damascus : Four people, including two children, were killed and five others, including a child, were injured in an explosion in a residential building on the outskirts of Idleb city in north-west Syria. Civil defence teams immediately began rescue operations, recovering the body of a victim from under the rubble, finding the remains of an unidentified person and the body of a child, while the other injured were evacuated from the scene. Praia : At least eight people were killed after flooding in Cape Verde overwhelmed Sao Vicente island, according to local authorities. Heavy rains fell on the northern island on Monday morning, flooding roads and sweeping away vehicles and people. The Cape Verde meteorological institute said Sao Vicente usually receives 116 millimeter’s of rain annually, but Ester Brito, an executive at the institute, said 193 millimeters fell within just five hours on Monday morning.
